Karyn Dowdall, MACP, RP has been practicing as a Registered Psychotherapist since 2019.
Prior to her move to independent practice, Karyn worked in-person and virtually for an addictions and mental health centre, as well as a supervised private practice.
Karyn is a graduate of Yorkville University’s Master of Counselling Psychology Program. She is also a graduate of Mount Royal University’s Addictions Studies Certificate Program.
Karyn holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Sociology and Social Anthropology from University of King’s College and a Bachelor of Business Communications from Brock University.
Karyn’s scope of practice includes use of various modalities of treatment including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotions-Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Solution-Focused and others. Karyn uses a BPS approach (Biological, Psychological, Social) in her assessment and treatment of clients, within a person-centered and compassionate framework.
As a certified yoga teacher, long-distance runner and dog-lover, Karyn appreciates the influence of mindfulness and balanced living in her life, and in her relationships with clients.
